Grand Canyon – Modders like Sukritact have also made new natural wonders for the game. Players looking for a unique high risk, high reward game style should definitely check out this mod. This ruthless leader from the French revolution grants bonuses to gold and production to his country’s cultural centers, in exchange for loyalty penalties. Maximilian Robespierre – Another one of Sukritact’s mods, this time an alternate leader for France. This Civilization can make it’s cities and their districts stronger around Natural Wonders and has scouts and settlers with higher mobility. Iceland – Sukritact is one of Civilization 6’s most competent modders, and the new civilizations and leaders they add to the game are of such high quality in both their creativity and presentation, they’re indistinguishable from civilizations already in the game they’re even 3D animated! One of their best additions is Iceland, led by Ingolfur Amarson. However, unlike the other mods, Civilizations Expanded requires all of the DLC to function.
For those looking for a change of pace, check out this extensive mod.
Every single leader and civilization is given new abilities, and some are overhauled completely to the point of feeling like completely different civilizations.
Civilizations Expanded – An ambitious project made by a collective of well-known programmers, this mod enhances all Civilizations in the game to be more viable. Knowing that a potential ally is at war with a neighbor might delay the alliance, and this mod helps visualize that information more clearly than before. At a glance, players can evaluate their world’s current political scale. Each leader has a line connected to every other leader, with the color of said line denoting their relationship status. Global Relations Panel – This excellent mod by Sukritact creates an easier way to view international relations. Specifically, Prismatic adds entirely new colors to the code that make even more distinct color combinations. Civilization 6 introduced a jersey system that lets players pick from 4 different combinations of colors, but the Prismatic mod by Seeling Cat adds even more. Prismatic – Each Civilization is represented by a 2 color combo so they can be told apart. Not only does it change the colors of the biomes, but the forests and jungles are a lot denser than Civ 6’s. For those who prefer the previous entry’s style, are looking to indulge in nostalgia, or want a fresh coat of paint for their world, check out this fantastic mod by GrrrArrrg.
Civilization 5 Environment Skin – This popular mod alters the game’s look to appear like the game’s predecessor, Civilization 5.
